Healing The Soul To Heal The Body

Heal the soul to heal the body

There are many people who go to the doctor because they complain of pain. A migraine that does not allow you to live well; too high blood pressure that accelerates the heart rhythm a pain that saddens, tires and forces you to sleep in the morning.

One part of the body hurts and we are prescribed antidepressants. It’s right? We cannot blame the doctors, they have little time to assist us and it is not unusual to go home with generic treatment. After a few weeks, stomach acid will return, the nausea that prevents us from leaving the house and the tachycardia that is accentuated when we go back to work.

Life hurts. Life has side effects that hurt our soul and make our body sick. What can be done? How to face this harsh reality?

The most common problem during medical visits

We will not go into philosophical or religious questions about the existence or not of the soul now, but we all understand the concept well. To the soul we attribute what we are, what we feel, it contains our fears and anxieties. Our dreams. There are theories that go a little further, theories that, for example, speak of the concept of regression and previous lives, where we continue to put problems without solution.

But we won’t talk about this now. We will rather dwell on the basic idea that the soul is a representation of our authentic essence. A very fragile, vulnerable entity that gets hurt every day. How can we go on with our daily life if our being is disappointed or trapped?

The body suffers and somatization is, perhaps, one of the most common realities in almost all medical visits. An undiagnosed depression will continue to lurk in the person suffering. There is no use in relieving back pain or stomach pain. The person goes to the specialist complaining of pain, gastrointestinal problems that almost prevent him from eating …

What can be done? First, be responsible. Be aware that the real center of the problem is in the mind, not the body. It may surprise you, but many of us struggle to admit it.

It is easier to accept that you have migraines than depression. It is also curious what happens in many families where a member is diagnosed with depression. How should family members behave? How to address the person suffering from depression? What should a baby do when the mother is suffering from depression?

Somehow, our society does not accept these “pains of the soul”. When in fact it would really be the best aid and support tool. Family, friends can often be the best “substratum” in these situations.

But how is the soul treated?

1. Be aware of everything that is happening around you and the effects of things on you. Sometimes we give in effortlessly, we accept things that go against our values. We find ourselves caught up in toxic relationships and only realize it when it’s too late. Be responsible, analyze what is happening around you and try to understand how this affects you. Self-knowledge is essential as a strategy for dealing with soul pain.

2. When you arrive home with a headache, tense and profoundly unwell, before taking a drug, allow yourself some time for yourself. Two hours of rest to be with yourself. A little time in your “palace of thoughts”, where you can switch off and be yourself.

If this alleviates your physical discomfort, perhaps it is time to make small changes in your life. We know that it is not always easy to find time for yourself, but keep in mind that little by little you risk “getting lost” if you do not take preventive measures. Get away from the obligations that keep you out of your balance, your well-being.

3. Don’t be afraid to speak out what makes you sick. What bothers you and what you can’t stand. If you keep quiet and hide it, day after day that restlessness will turn into physical pain. Accept, express yourself, seek help and undertake a process of change aimed at seeking the much desired well-being. That tranquility of the soul to which we all have a right.
